On 14 August 2026, the seventh Council of the China Electrical Equipment Industrial Association (CEEIA) held its first meeting following the election of the new Council and the third Supervisory Board at the association’s Seventh General Assembly of Members. Members of the third Supervisory Board and other member representatives attended the meeting as observers.
Liu Hongyu, Director of the Membership Affairs Department of the China Machinery Industry Federation, read the results of candidate review for leadership positions on the seventh Council.
Following the CEEIA Articles of Association and established election procedures, the assembly elected 89 executive directors by secret ballot, with all candidates elected. Luo Qianyi, Chairman of Dongfang Electric Corporation, was elected President. Jian Jingwen, Bai Wenbo, Huang Yuming and 30 others were elected Vice Presidents, with Bai Wenbo also serving as Secretary-General.
The new Council approved several key measures, including membership management rules, a spokesperson system, the division of responsibilities among the President and resident executives, and the appointment of Jian Jingwen as CEEIA’s legal representative and spokesperson.
In his first address as President, Luo Qianyi outlined 6 priorities:
- strengthening Party leadership,
- addressing industry irregularities,
- planning for industry development,
- focusing on priorities under the 15th Five-Year Plan,
- improving member services, and
- building greater industry-wide cooperation.
He said the new Council would focus on delivering results and use member satisfaction to assess its performance, while supporting China’s goals of becoming a manufacturing and energy powerhouse.
Supervisory Board Chair Li Fang outlined 6 priorities for the new Board, including strengthening Party leadership, focusing on its core responsibilities, improving governance systems, developing new approaches to oversight, strengthening its own capabilities, and enhancing collaboration and communication.
Guo Yan, Deputy Director of CEEIA’s Industry Development Department, presented a report on the industry’s economic performance in the first half of 2026. The report covered major economic indicators, key product output, market demand and investment, imports and exports, the Purchasing Managers’ Index, and major industry challenges. It also assessed the outlook for the sector, providing data and analysis to support the new Council’s policy and service priorities.
The meeting concluded with the approval of the meeting minutes and a summary by Huang Yuming.
Looking ahead, CEEIA’s seventh Council will work to bring together industry-wide efforts and support the high-quality development of China’s equipment manufacturing sector.
