On February 28, 2024, China convened the Working Seminar on Internationalization of Advanced Manufacturing in Beijing. The event also marked the founding ceremony of the Research Center of Advanced Manufacturing Internationalization (hereinafter referred to as “the Research Center”). Multiple experienced standardization experts attended the event and shared their insights on the topic.

The Research Center is founded under the leading efforts of the China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd. Its main responsibilities are to integrate the relevant needs initiated from the internationalized development of advanced manufacturing sectors, as well as:

  • Analysis of frontier trends in standardization work, both domestically and internationally.
  • Cultivation of pre-research and experiment validation capabilities.
  • International standardization engagement and cooperation.
  • Creation of internationalized standardization service systems.

The experts emphasized the importance of the Research Center as one of the key measures to implement the goals of China’s National Standardization Development Outline, specifically in terms of achieving a higher level of opening up in the standardization field. The Research Center is expected to intensify practical cooperation with domestic and global institutions, while contributing to the optimization of global standard system, and the formulation and promotion of international standards.
